The Kelly Cruise, at 50 km, is a gentle tester for those who spend a good bit of time in the saddle. For those, however, who are not used to doing much cycling, this is a really good test, and particularly suitable for family participation. Note, however, that participants must be aged 10 or over on 28th August 2011. 
The 2011 Cruise Route remains the same as 2010 . The route travels out of Dungarvan through Ballinameela and Whitechurch. The first 15k of the route is on a slightly narrower road than the previous 2 years. We ask all riders to show due care and respect to other road users and always obey the instructions of event officials-remember the roads are open to traffic at all times.
At the 15k mark the route turns in the direction of the wonderful village of Villierstown, home of another one of Co. Waterford’s sporting legends, the great John Treacy. Again the organisers would ask participants to cycle carefully through the village. After Villierstown the next 6 kms of the route is among some of the most scenic on this year’s Cruise route and should rightly be savoured-you are now heading northward on the beautiful (slightly hilly!) Dromana Drive on the banks of the River Blackwater. Our advice is to take your time and enjoy the scenery.
Upon reaching the N72 turn left in the direction of Cappoquin and enjoy the great hospitality at our food stop in Cappoquin Community Centre. This is the third year that this venue has hosted one of the Sean Kelly Tour food stops and it will no doubt prove popular again with all those taking part.
After leaving Cappoquin Community Centre turn right in the direction of Dungarvan on the N72 and follow this route directly to Dungarvan, for a distance of 20k and the finish line at Dungarvan Sports Centre where a great welcome is assured for all riders!
